Wonderland Series by Kirsty Mitchell
Kirsty Mitchell’s late mother Maureen was an English teacher who spent her life inspiring generations of children with imaginative stories and plays. Following Maureen’s death from a brain tumour in 2008, Kirsty channelled her grief into her passion for photography.
She retreated behind the lens of her camera and created Wonderland, an ethereal fantasy world. The photographic series began as a small summer project but grew into an inspirational creative journey. ‘Real life became a difficult place to deal with, and I found myself retreating further into an alternative existence through the portal of my camera,’ said the artist.

Beautiful images. The pond and flower image are my favourite (right, middle and right, bottom.)
We are similar in our techniques to a certain extent.

Sigur Rós - Ekki Múkk
It’s funny how such a colaboration of notes can open up your veins to you and make you feel something else. This music gets to me, and again comes that nostalgia for somewhere and something thats never even happened.
Music is odd, and I think we take such a thing for granted. The power a few vibrations at the right pitch can transform us and turn even the strongest souls inside out.
Sigur Ros is a rare band, one that understands the power within music.
From what i’ve heard so far this album has a slow steady pace, and that pace is what makes the sound so indescribable. The end piano solo proves that music doesn’t have to be intricate - it just needs the right notes.
Oh gods the one Marilyn Manson UK tour date and it’s sold out cold.
We were not very happy.

Funny bright light makes me look like an alien or sutin.
Taken back in march.
Smashing through photos is not good when coursework needs to be eaten up.

Sorry guys, I’ve been tricking you all along.
THIS is actually my real house.
Somewhere.
Somehow?
This evening I went to see Barry & Stewart and met them afterwards.
Whats fabulous is their originality in technique and it was interesting to see their magic acts explained.
It was a good night, and I was pleased that Barry was a secret metalhead.
Horns high for this picture.
Nasty picture of me but what you gonna do! Bad faces have to be sacrificed in times of awesome photo opportunities.
